About Bowrider Boats
With an open bow area up front allowing for increased seating capacity, the accurately named bowrider is the most popular runabout design on the water. Well suited for watersports like water skiing, tubing and wakeboarding (most come with - or can accept - a tower/pylon for a rope), a bowrider is the perfect choice for a small get-together in the summer sun.
Advantages of Bowriders
Generally smaller than its close cousin, the deck boat, bow riders come with slightly different features that help it excel in areas over other boat configurations.
With a "V" hull design (the hull comes to a point), bowriders are much more adept at sharp turns and slicing through choppier water than its larger relatives (deck boats and pontoons)
As stated above, a bowrider is perfect for most watersports, though center console boats are usually more effective for fishing
The open bow design typically allows for up to 10 passengers
Allows for outboard, stern drive or jet propulsion systems
Main disadvantage: bowriders, because their hull is smaller, generally don't have as much storage or leg room as other configurations. However, if you only plan on carrying smaller crews then this won't be an issue
